When I think of the word waterbug, I always think that this should describe a sweet looking bug that skates on the surface of the water with great grace. Instead it's a bug right out of hell. If you have ever seen ones of these in your house, then you will know what I'm talking about.
They are long--I swear I've seen them as long a my index finger, and their antennas are even longer--just think of a roach on steroids.
When I see one I lose all since of reality, and fear takes over my soul. I'm afraid I would knock an old woman down with a walker just to get out of the room (actually that's an episode on Seinfield.)
I live in Texas which is the wrong state to live in if you're afraid of bugs. Thank God there are two people in my family who are "Bug Killing Super Heroes," but they are not always home.
Again I'm not sure I can post a picture of a water bug, since I can hardly stand to look at one. So here is a picture of the roach like bug in one of my favorite movies (and the only animated movie I like) Wall-e.
He was a good pet for Wall-e.
Ok, well here goes, and by the way they can fly too. I'm not sure why they are packaged, though I know they eat them overseas.

Heights = Fear
| why |
I remember as a child my dad would see a big hill coming up, and he would hit the gas so we would fly over and down as fast as we could go. For that brief wonderful second my stomach would fly up on the inside, and it was the most delicious feeling.
Once we were at the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado, and looking down I saw a swimming pool so small it was just a dot. I told my dad that I could jump and the swimming pool would save me (I was young-- not stupid)
I'm not sure when my fear of heights began, but it did, and it's real, and I'm glad I live in very flat Texas! I have never gone higher than the 10th floor on a elevator, and even though I have flown and would fly again if given the chance, there is a lot of liquor involved!
The title of this blog should be why!!!!!
I understand that some heights are normal--like bridges,
| beautiful scary bridge |
| again beautiful scary bridge! |
or the top of high buildings!
| wow |
| view from the empire state building
But why would anyone do this!
|
| why
or this
|
| why |
or especially this;
| probably a joke, but why!
Thank you for reading about my fears. Have a great day and please stay away from cliffs.
